So, I know it's like totes cliché to exist a makeup lover obsessed with lip prints, but I am. Information technology is what it is. And the bag in the new NARS The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set ($49) has the cutest lip print.
It's from the new NARS Man Ray Holiday collection (available at present), which has lips all over the place! — on the packaging, the pans, and even gracing this shiny gold makeup pocketbook.
And these lips here are speaking to my soul. I love that they're a picayune uneven and fussy looking, like they're p*ssed nigh someone parking in their designated spot, haha!
(OK…leave information technology to the accessories hoarder to become off on the bag five minutes!)
To their credit, the NARS LE holiday bags are some of the best holiday bags around. I accept a black one with blue lips on it from a few years back, and it'south still going strong.
Inside the pocketbook are iv full-size NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, two of which, the darkest shades, Toundra and Endangered Red, are VERY pigmented re-promotes from the permanent line. The ii lighter shades, Wild Means and Spell Bound, are new, limited addition and, FYI, super sheer, which could be a deal-breaker for some peeps.
Only going by the numbers, though, this is a proficient deal. On its own, a stick of Endangered Ruby-red is $27, but you get four NARS Lip Pencils for $49 with this set.
I don't know if y'all're familiar with the Velvet Mattes, merely I call them "anti-true cat butt lipsticks," because you know how some matte lipsticks dry your lips so much that they finish up looking like a cat butt? (OMG, it'south true and you know it!) Anyway, these don't. The formula also feels and looks lightweight.
They aren't equally long wearing as some mattes, and I do have to reapply mine afterward a meal or a coffee. Likewise, sometimes when my lips are actress dry, I won't touch 'em at all, because they do catch on any flakes. Just when my lips are in good shape and I'chiliad in the mood, they're fun.
Basically, I think these are lovely. Sure, Wild Means and Spell Bound are a little sheer… I would've liked them to accept a flake more pigment, only they're still flattering in a delicate way.
